MEDICA is the world’s largest trade fair for medical technology and healthcare. It takes place every November at Messe Düsseldorf in Germany. In 2025 it drew about 78,000 visitors from 165 countries and around 5,500 exhibitors from 72 countries.
The next edition, MEDICA 2026, runs from 16 to 19 November 2026.
What you will find at MEDICA
MEDICA covers almost everything a hospital, clinic or practice buys. The main product areas are:
- Surgical and dental instruments
- Disposables and consumables, such as gloves, syringes and dressings
- Laboratory equipment and diagnostics
- Imaging, such as X-ray and ultrasound
- Physiotherapy and orthopaedic products
- Health IT and digital health
Most exhibitors are manufacturers. Many come from Germany, China, the USA, Italy, Korea, India, Taiwan and Pakistan.
Who MEDICA is for
MEDICA is a trade-only fair. It is not open to the general public. Typical visitors are:
- Importers and distributors of medical products
- Hospital buyers and procurement teams
- Doctors, surgeons and dentists
- Product managers looking for OEM and private label suppliers
Why MEDICA matters
No other event puts so many suppliers in one place. In four days, a buyer can compare dozens of manufacturers face to face. You can hold the product, check the finish and meet the people who make it.
For new distributors, MEDICA is often where long supplier relationships begin.
MEDICA and COMPAMED
COMPAMED runs at the same time, in Halls 8a and 8b. It is for suppliers of parts and components to the medical industry. One ticket usually covers both fairs.
